Oklahoma Teacher Accused of Passing Out Drunk in Class

(Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) A 30-year-old teacher at Millwood High School, April Chamberlain, was arrested after students reported that she was intoxicated and passed out in a classroom.

Chamberlain faces a charge of public drunkenness.
Students said she appeared disoriented and used profanity. When students found Chamberlain asleep in the office, they contacted a coach, who informed the principal.

The principal said after she repeatedly shouted and tapped Chamberlain on the shoulder, the substitute woke up. The principal said Chamberlain had blood-shot eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol.

When a deputy arrived, she saw an open bottle of Canadian Whisky in Chamberlain's purse. The deputy also noted Chamberlain kept slurring and was unsteady on her feet.
Chamberlain was booked into custody at the Oklahoma County Jail.
