Tennessee Teacher Accused of Rape

(Dyersburg, Tennessee) A 37-year-old teacher at Christ Classical Academy, Beth Scearce, has been accused of engaging in sex with two boys.

Scearce faces prosecution for aggravated statutory rape.

The charges were filed Wednesday in Lauderdale County, where she lives.

Scearce has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

In a statement, school administrators said they were "surprised and shocked" by the arrest and noted there's no indication that any other students or employees involved.
