Nevada Teacher Gets Prison for Sexual Conduct with Student - Update
(Carson City, Nevada)
A former Carson City teacher will serve at least a year in prison for having sex with a 17-year-old male student, the Carson City District Attorney's Office said.
Carson District Court Judge James Wilson sentenced Jennifer H. Dalton, 36, to a maximum of 30 months in prison for a felony count of sexual conduct between a school employee and student.

(Carson City, Nevada) In October 2012, a teacher formerly at Carson City High School, Jennifer Dalton, was charged with engaging in sexual conduct with a student.
Dalton was booked into custody at the Carson City Jail with bail set at $15,000.
Yesterday, Dalton, 35, appeared in Carson City District Court and pleaded not guilty to sexual conduct with a student.
The investigation began on August 31, 2011 after the sheriff’s office was contacted by the Human Resources Director of the School District. Carson City School District Superintendent Richard Stokes said Dalton was put on administrative leave with pay from September 2011 to November 2011 and then resigned for personal reasons.The case continues.
According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office, there was forensics analysis used during the investigation, and as a result, the district attorney saw enough evidence to charge her and issue a warrant for her arrest.
