Tom Clancy, b.1947-d.2013
(Baltimore, Maryland) Immensely and deservedly successful writer Tom Clancy died yesterday. He was 66.
Personally, Mr. Clancy provided me with days, sometime weeks, of enjoyment as I read and reread his books. Early on I discovered that the novels were more interesting than the resultant movies. Clancy was meticulous about important but seemingly insignificant details which challenge translation into a motion picture.
