Orange Diamond

(Geneva, Switzerland) Going on sale tomorrow, the largest orange diamond ever to be presented at auction is expected to garner $17-20 million.
Described by the auctioneer as a "the largest fancy vivid orange diamond in the world", the stone is 14.82 carats and is the size of an almond.

It was found in South Africa, but the name of its seller has not been revealed by Christie's.

Pure orange diamonds, also known as "fire diamonds", are exceptionally rare in nature and very few have been auctioned, with the largest never more than six carats.
Shiny thing, eh? I'd like to put it on a ring for my lovely wife but the price is overly stretchy. My limit for shiny things (without motors) is around a couple hundred bucks.
