Illinois Woman Accused of Unlawful Tampering of Food
(Pekin, Illinois) A local man, Joshua Brewster, told a woman, Amanda Pollard, 28, that he didn't want her living with him anymore.
Pollard reportedly retaliated by putting rat poison in Brewster's coffee, tucking a severed electric blanket cord under his mattress and pissing in his bottle of mouthwash.
Pollard faces counts of felony unlawful tampering of food and misdemeanor counts of trespassing and criminal damage to property.
The friend reportedly found Pollard cutting the blanket cord. She told him of her “payback” intent, her mouthwash sabotage and the rat poison she said she also put in a cereal box, according to the affidavit.Pollard was booked into custody with bond set at $50,000.
Questioned later by police, Pollard acknowledged she laced Brewster’s coffee with the poison but denied the other acts. She said she was “hurt and angry” over her eviction, the affidavit stated.
