New York Teacher Gets Jail for Theft of $100,000 - Update
(Guilderland, New York) Last September, 39-year-old math teacher Brenda McClaine pleaded guilty to grand larceny after stealing more than $100,000 from the Guilderland Teachers' Association.
McClaine forged the signature of the association president and deposited checks — along with membership dues — into her personal account.As a result, McClaine was sentenced to serve six months in the Albany County Jail.

(Guilderland, New York) A 39-year-old math teacher at Farnsworth Middle School, Brenda McClaine, has been accused of stealing $100,000 from the Guilderland Teachers Association.
McClaine has been charged with second-degree larceny.
Police allege that McClaine stole $100,382.50 from the 450-member teachers association between August 2012 and October 2013. Police declined to comment further on the investigation or whether the stolen money was recovered.McClaine has been arraigned in Town Court and released on $15,000 bail.
District Superintendent Maria Wiles stressed that no district funds were involved in the theft and that there were no complaints of irregularities in McClaine's instruction or her interaction with students.
