Indiana Teacher Accused of DUI, Drugs

Megan Brotherton

(Indianapolis, Indiana) A 32-year-old first-grade teacher at Pleasant Run Elementary School, Megan Brotherton, has been accused of drunk driving, public intoxication, possessing marijuana, dealing marijuana and leaving the scene of a crash involving injury.
Officers stopped Brotherton in the 3600 block of East 46th Street after she tried to leave the scene, and found an open container of an alcoholic beverage in her car along with a "large amount of suspected marijuana," according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

She also had additional drug-related items characterized as "paraphernalia," police said.

Brotherton agreed to have her blood drawn, police said, for a check of her blood-alcohol level.
Brotherton was booked into the Marion County Jail and released on $2,500 bond.
