Texas Teacher Accused of Sex with Student

(Allen, Texas) A 20-year-old teacher's aide formerly at Allen High School, Kearney Day, has been accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student.

Day faces a charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student.

According to the affidavit, Day told police she sent the suggestive messages but denied any sexual contact with the student. She said she only hugged the student and gave her a back rub, the affidavit stated.

On Wednesday, the student contacted police again. She told police she didn’t tell the full story during the first interview because she still had feelings for Day and wanted to protect Day. The student said she thought that she really loved Day but that she just wants to put it behind her now, the affidavit stated. The student said “that sex did take place” multiple times during that sleepover on Valentine’s Day, according to the affidavit.

Day was booked into custody on Thursday and released on $10,000 bond.
