OK Teacher Gets No Jail for Sex with Male Student - Update
(Bethel, Oklahoma) Former Bethel High School teacher, Wendy L. Hickman, was sentenced yesterday for engaging in sex with a 15-year-old male student.
Hickman received suspended sentences.
Back in March, Hickman had pleaded guilty to charges of forcible sodomy and soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology, a charge stemming from text messages allegedly sent to the teen involved in the case. A second-degree rape charge initially filed was dismissed with that plea.Case closed?
Hickman was sentenced to serve a 20-year suspended sentence on the forcible sodomy count, court documents show, and received a 10-year suspended sentence for the soliciting count. Those sentences will run concurrently.
She was ordered to pay fines and costs and will have to serve 200 hours of community service. She also was ordered to attend sex offender treatment for two years and write a letter of apology, court records show.

(Bethel, Oklahoma) A 40-year-old English teacher at Bethel High School, Wendy Hickman, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 16-year-old male student.
Hickman faces a charge of second-degree rape.
The student told police that Hickman had also sent him nude photographs of herself, which investigators and the Bethel Schools Superintendent Jerry M. The student told police they only had sex the one time.
Hickman was arrested Wednesday and booked into custody at the Pottawatomie County Jail.
