Minnesota Teacher Accused of Sex with Student, 17
[Previous 10/9/14 post]
(Austin, Minnesota) A 28-year-old teacher formerly at Pacelli High School, Mary Gilles, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 17-year-old male student.

Gilles faces six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, a school administrator told police she had seen an email correspondence between 28-year-old Gilles and a 17-year-old male student that contained sexual content. The administrator also reported that she saw Gilles and the boy in the school auditorium at a late hour.

The administrator said she had a “gut feeling” that something inappropriate was happening, so she accessed the student’s school email account. There was nothing there, but she found a password for the student’s Yahoo email account and found many emails “containing sexual relationship content.”

The criminal complaint said some of the most recent emails talked about the possibility that Gilles might be pregnant.

Authorities met with the student after collecting more evidence. The complaint states the student told authorities he and Gilles were very close, and they started having sex in February 2014, and it continued through September.
Details on booking are unavailable.
