Border Patrol Arrests Fugitives

Border Patrol agents keep apprehending illegal aliens and somehow they get released and apprehended again. The current program for securing the U.S. - Mexico border obviously isn't working. Most troubling is the reality that criminals are entering the U.S. with impunity. Some are apprehended and returned to Mexico where they turn around and come back to be apprehended again, sometimes.

Just recently, a child rapist, a narcotics felony probation violator, and a forgery felony probation violator were taken into custody along the border south of Tucson, Arizona. The child rapist, Gerardo Miranda-Carmona, a 20-year-old Mexican, was convicted a mere four months ago in Washington state. Why this guy was not in jail is a mystery.

Nevertheless, it's turning into a lawless territory in the southwest border regions and, with increasing frequency, fugitivess are being apprehended. The liberal argument that the illegals are primarily poverty-stricken families looking for work is slowly being eroded by crooks and gangsters.

As the problems with illegal aliens increase, indicating a significant breakdown in border security, the federal government has effectively just watched. Consequently, some Americans are taking the initiative to join a private border security organization formed by James Gilchrist. The plan, called the "Minuteman Project," is 240 volunteers patrolling the border by air and land. Since a private group of Americans are now acting in concert, some law enforcement organizations are not happy. Diggers Realm is covering the story.
