Germans Watching More Television

With the German unemployment rate continuously increasing, it's not surprising that the figures for television viewing are also increasing. Of note, however, is that the state of Saxony-Anhalt had an unemployment rate last year of 20.3 percent (Ohio's rate of about 6 percent looks absolutely puny by comparison.) and citizens spent, on average, 70 full days during the year in front of the television. That is a considerable amount of unproductive time.

By the way, another drawback of increased television watching is the increased likelihood that people will get drunk and kill if they aren't able to see their favorite program.
