Arizona Takes Over 11 Failing Schools

(Phoenix, Arizona) Due to unacceptable performance by students on standardized tests, the Arizona State Board of Education unanimously voted yesterday to take over the daily operations of the state's first 11 failing schools. Five principals were booted, teachers were replaced and campuses were combined. Dramatic actions, of course, but sometimes they're warranted.
