Mexico City to Fresno - Nonstop

(Fresno, California) Boarding soon, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, will be nonstop Mexicana Airline flights, five times a week, connecting Fresno to and from both Mexico City and Guadalajara. However, some minor details still need to be worked out concerning safeguards against agricultural pests.

From ABC30.com:
Those safeguards include warning signs in both English and Spanish on the Mexico side and what are called amnesty bins - there will be containers in which passengers can turn in food products, such as food or meat, before the (sic) get on board the plane to come to the U.S.
So, before leaving Mexico, passengers will see warning signs in two languages identifying "Amnesty Bins" for food and meat. This action addresses concerns about protecting crops. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I don't know what 'amnesty' has to do with food, meat, or crops.

Service commences in April 2006.
