NH Woman Gets Prison for Sex Assault of Boy - Updated

(Nashua, New Hampshire) In June 2008, 38-year-old Robin Mowery was convicted of four counts of felony sexual assault for engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy in 2006.

Today, a judge admitted he was using a societal double standard in sentencing Mowery to a two-to-four-year prison term.

Assistant County Attorney Patricia LaFrance had requested roughly eight and one-half to 21 years in prison.
“Like it or not, an underage boy having sex with an older-aged girl is viewed differently than the other way around,” Hillsborough County Superior Court Judge Robert Lynn said before handing down the sentence on Nashua resident Robin Mowery.

Mowery also received three concurrent 3 1/2- to- seven-year sentences that are suspended for good behavior upon completion of the first sentence.
LaFrance left the courtroom visibly pissed. She said prosecutors are reviewing Mowery's testimony for untruths that could lead to more charges.
Mowery will receive 180 days time-served credit on her first sentence. The other three sentences will be suspended pending her good behavior and the following of guidelines for registered sex offenders.

She can no longer have intentional contact with those under 16, except with family members. She must also undergo sex offender treatment.
Mowery should thank the Almighty for the shape of her skin. If a man had been sentenced by Judge "Double Standard" Lynn, he would rot for at least a couple decades behind bars.

Frankly, I truly sense that Judge Lynn was trying his best to figure out a way to prevent Mowery from having to spend any time in prison.
