Woman Allegedly Stabbed with Meat Thermometer

(Louisville, Kentucky) A local man carrying a concealed meat thermometer, Steven Battle, was arrested yesterday for allegedly assaulting and stabbing a woman.
The woman told police she was having an argument with Battle when he put on a pair of black gloves and began choking her with both hands.

According to the arrest record, the woman tried to escape, but she said Battle took a meat thermometer out of his pocket and stabbed her several times.

The victim was taken to University Hospital with stab wounds to the face, arm and back.
The woman's name has been withheld and her condition is unknown.

This episode shows that gun control, or even knife control, laws are nonsensical methods of preventing person-on-person violence. If a person wants to commit a violent act, it will happen with a gun, a knife, a hatchet, an axe, a hammer, a 2-by-4 or a meat thermometer. Believing that banning a type of weapon will prevent violence is ludicrous. There are too many alternatives.
