Talking CCTV

The British government announced this week that closed-circuit television operators will be able to shout at vandals and litterbugs. Loudspeakers attached to CCTV surveillance cameras in a pilot program were deemed a success, therefore, more camera locations will be fitted. A total of 4.2 million camera locations are under consideration. Loudspeaker manufacturers were unavailable for comment presumably because all senior officers are out buying boats.

No information has been disclosed on plans to install laser guns along with the loudspeakers.

On the road to serfdom, Brits are cautioned not to drop any candy wrappers or expect to hear, "Hey you with the funny hat! Pick that up!"
