Woman Indicted for Child Sex Crimes

(Toms River, New Jersey) In June 2006, 36-year-old Michelle L. Adams was arrested and charged with engaging in sex with two 13-year-old boys while she was baby-sitting two younger children.

This week, an Ocean County grand jury indicted Adams on 14 counts, including intercourse with one boy, aggravated criminal sexual contact with the other and seven counts of child endangerment.

Conviction on all counts could net Adams a punishment of more than 100 years in prison. In the interim, she remains free on bail.

Note that no photograph is available because "the release of police mug shots is prohibited by an executive order of the governor unless the defendant is a fugitive or considered an immediate risk to the public." Apparently those accused or convicted of crimes in New Jersey are granted mug shot confidentiality. Why is beyond me.
