Most-Wanted JI Terrorist Captured on Java

(Jakarta, Indonesia) Here is some good news in the fight against terrorism.

The top military leader of Jemaah Islamiah (JI), Abu Dujana, was captured Saturday on the island of Java. Indonesian security forces captured 38-year-old Dujana along with seven others. Although Dujana hides behind several aliases, his identity was confirmed by DNA and fingerprints.

Dujana, 38, was wanted for a number of deadly terrorist attacks including the 2002 Bali nightclub bombing, the 2003 Marriott Hotel bombing in Jakarta, the 2004 Australian Embassy blast in Jakarta and attacks on the island of Sulawesi. Police stated that Dujana had control of JI's ammo and explosives, including storage and distribution. It's believed his absence will dramatically affect JI's operations.

Having had formal weapons training in Afghanistan and having met with Osama bin Laden, Dujana has key information regarding JI operations and the interface with al Qaeda. His capture is viewed as a "major triumph" for the Indonesian Police.

The names of the other terrorists captured have not yet been released.
