Mom Jailed on Drug, Child Endangerment Charges

(Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) A 22-year-old local married mother, Shannon Elizabeth Bozel, was arrested this week on alleged drug and child endangerment offenses.

Reportedly, Bozel left her 14-month-old baby in the car with the engine running as she negotiated a deal for heroin for her husband who is on house arrest.

Bozel was charged with possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child and driving with a suspended license.
Shannon Elizabeth Bozel left her child in her car in Northview Heights while she purchased some heroin in the 200 block of Essen Street. Shortly after returning to her car and driving away, she struck another vehicle, police and emergency dispatchers said. The owners of the other vehicle called 911, dispatchers said.

Police found three stamp bags of heroin in her car.
Bozel was booked into custody at the Allegheny County Jail with bond set at $25,000. The baby is with a grandmother.

"Boy, it's a bummer being on house arrest. I gotta use the old lady to get some smack, but she goes and wrecks the car, gets pinched and I end up with no smack, a wrecked car and an old lady in the joint. Damn!" [Husband's remarks, telepathically captured.]
