Two OK Female Teachers Investigated for No-Nos with Students

(Vian, Oklahoma) Two female teachers at Vian High School, Tracy Boshers and Jennifer Cowart, have been suspended with pay while an investigation of inappropriate behavior with students is conducted by the Vian Police and the school system.
Police Chief Danny Hoover would not reveal the age, gender or number of possible victims but says some are still attending the school while others are out of school.
Hoover did say that one of the male students involved has come forward. Others are reluctant.

According to Vian Public School’s Superintendent Lawrence Barnes, Boshers and Cowart have pre-termination hearings scheduled for April 14th and 22nd, respectively.
"When it’s personnel stuff we really can’t say a lot," Barnes said. "After the hearings, everything will come out."

Neither teacher has been arrested, Hoover said, but a warrant on a complaint of sexual battery for one of the teachers was taken to the district attorney's office this week, he said.

He would not say for which teacher the warrant was delivered.

Another warrant may be filed with the district attorney next week, he said.
Boshers has taught Spanish at the high school and middle school for more than 10 years. Cowart has been a math teacher at Vian High School for at least the last six years said Superintendent Barnes.

Boshers is represented by attorney Rex Earl Starr. Attorney Frank Sullivan Jr. has been retained by Cowart. Reached for comment, Sullivan stated that "any so-called evidence is conflicting and not credible."

One thing is certain, though, the scandal has changed the normally polite conversations in Vian to bouts of innuendo, rumor and accusation. And with a population of less than 2,000 people, everyone in Vian is affected.
