Shrimp Invasion

(Myrtle Beach, South Carolina) Half-pound striped Asian tiger shrimp are an invasive species in South Carolina waterways. How they got to South Carolina is unknown.

Although they are native to southeast Asia, they have been found near Hilton Head and Fripp Islands and also the Charleston area. Being just another, albeit larger, shrimp, they shouldn't cause an ecological problem. Many invasive species do.
