Texas Educator Guilty in Sex Case - Updated

A former Childress Independent School District teacher’s aide pleaded guilty Friday to a federal charge after she traveled to Oklahoma in February to have sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Shanice Adel Lambert, 38, faces five to 30 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000 after pleading guilty to a charge of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, court records showed.

A former teacher's aide in Childress is indicted by a federal grand jury in Lubbock Wednesday on sex related charges.

Court documents show Shanice Lambert was indicted for production of child pornography, enticement of a minor, and two counts of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

According to the indictment, in February 2012, Lambert enticed a minor to have sex through communications on a cellular phone, took images of the minor and also transported the minor on two different occasions to Oklahoma to have sex.

A court appearance is scheduled for September 20.

(Childress, Texas) A 37-year-old teacher's aide with the Childress Independent School District, Shanice Lambert, has been accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a student.

Lambert faces charges of sexual assault of a child and inappropriate relationship with a student.

After the accusations came to light on March 20th, Lambert was placed on administrative leave. That's when several agencies became involved in the investigation.

Just days later on March 23rd, Lambert was officially fired from her job with Childress ISD.

Lambert was booked into custody at the Armstrong County Jail and subsequently released on $20,000 bond.
