New York Woman Accused of Theft from PTO

(Ontario County, New York) A 44-year-old local woman, Tracy L. Brooks, has been accused of stealing $50,000 while treasurer of the Gorham-Middlesex Parent Teacher Organization.

Brooks faces a charge of grand larceny.

Brooks was treasurer of the PTO from 2007 through this September, and police said the missing funds are from accounts to which Brooks has access.

Police said the PTO, which consists of parents and family that support the functions of the school, is a separate entity from the school district.

Brooks was booked into custody at the Ontario County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
