PA Woman Gets Prison for Teen Drug and Drinking Parties

(Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania) In April 2012, a 40-year-old local woman, Erica King, was arrested for allegedly hosting teen drug and liquor parties and engaging in sex with a 17-year-old boy.

In July, King pleaded guilty to corruption of minors and providing alcohol to minors. As a result, Lackawanna County Judge Michael J. Barrasse sentenced King to 90 days in county prison and 90 days house arrest.
Police interviewed six teenagers who claimed alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs were available at her home.

Judge Barrasse admonished Ms. King on Tuesday for not accepting responsibility for the incidents during her pre-sentence investigation several months ago. She stated at the time, according to the judge, that the case against her amounted to nothing more than "rumors and gossip" and that she "didn't do these terrible things."

After the judge finished his remarks, Ms. King apologized.

She was then handcuffed and escorted out of the courthouse by sheriff's deputies.

According to police, her home was called a "party house" for people under 21 years old.
King will also serve five years of probation.
