California Woman Gets 35 Years for Sex Assault

(San Diego, California) Last month, a 49-year-old local woman, Catherine McCoy, was convicted of rape 'after she helped abduct and attack a younger rival in 2011, then left her naked on the side of a San Diego freeway.'

As a result, McCoy was sentenced last Friday to 35 years in prison.

During the sentencing hearing, San Diego Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Fraser said McCoy had not shown any remorse for assaulting the victim and dumping her out of a vehicle.

McCoy’s purpose, the judge said, “was to have power over (the victim), to have control over her, to humiliate her,” and he called the attack sadistic.

According to the trial testimony, McCoy was angry at the other woman, who was 21 at the time, because she had sex with McCoy’s boyfriend.

You'd think that a person would have acquired a bit of common sense by the time age 49 is attained. Not so with McCoy.
