(Farmington Hills, Michigan) A married mother of three, Jami Lee Knox, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy. Reportedly, Knox had an ongoing relationship with the boy, her son's friend. She was released on bond with a court date scheduled for July 12.
From L.L. Brasier of the Detroit Free Press:
Police say her son brought the boy home several weeks ago, and that she began taking the teen to sports outings, and for ice cream. At one point, she drove the boy to a cemetery where they had sex. And according to police, Knox sometimes posed as the boy's mother and called the school to get him released. Many lives have been affected. And, it's far from over. (Tip: Don Morgenstern)
"There seems to be a growing number of these middle aged women, these desperate housewives, who are luring these juveniles into sexual relationships," said Farmington Hills police chief William Dwyer. "This boy is 15, he's scarred. His parents are upset, and this woman has three children and a husband who have been harmed by this."

Knox, married mother of three, appeared at a pre-trial hearing today resulting in a continuance until October 10 to allow attorneys more time to prepare.
From The Detroit Free Press:
She left the courtroom with her husband and a handful of supporters without talking to reporters.Based upon the history of cases where females molest boys, is it any wonder that she didn't think she was committing a serious crime? Usually the punishment is bottom-scrapings lenient or none. Kudos to the prosecution for ignoring gender and focusing on the crime.
Outside the court, assistant prosecutor Robert Giles said Knox, a homemaker with no prior record, faces 45 months to 75 months if convicted, and said his office was not willing to consider a plea agreement to avoid a trial. She is charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree, and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
"If she were a man there would be no discussion of a plea bargain," Giles said, "And there will be none in this case." Knox reportedly made incriminating statements to police about the relationship, and prosecutors intend to present the ongoing email records at trial.
Knox, he said, was having difficulty with the notion the crime she is accused of carries serious prison time. "She has to come to grips with what the results are going to be," he said.
