John Joseph Ray 15 Jul 1943 - 18 Nov 2024
Shortly before Mike passed away I went looking for what had happened to his very special co-blogger John Ray. I found a very nice memorial on this website: https://memoirsjr.blogspot.com
I tried to write a note to John's son Joe through a comment on the memorial, but I don't know if he got it as it was never published as a comment. Here is my note. Rest in peace, John Ray.
Note to John's son August 20, 2025:
"Dear Joe and family. I was sorry to see that John passed away. I never knew him but I wanted to let you know that my husband, Mike Pechar, appreciated his relationship with him through their blogs. Mike was very protective of his blog (Interested-Participant.blogspot.com) and allowed only John Ray and me (Susan, his wife) to post there. He trusted him that much. After Mike forgot how to blog in April 2016 because of his dementia, John continued to support the blog. I did try to contact John by email shortly after John's last post on Mike's blog in November 2016, but I'm not sure he received the email. Anyway, I always was amazed at how prolific your dad was keeping up all of his blogs and Mike's. I recently looked for A Western Heart to see how he was doing and finally found this site. Mike is on Hospice now and hasn't been able to communicate since October 2020, but when I told him about John's passing, he seemed to understand me. I loved John's posts and how open he was about his whole life. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for your memorial post."
