ACLU RECRUITING DRIVE

Upon noticing the increasing median age of its members, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has initiated a program to recruit new and younger people to its ranks. The program consists of eight performances called a "college freedom tour" to campuses from Miami to Seattle throughout this fall season. Attendees must endure a couple hours of lectures before being entertained by hip-hop artists, comedians, and slam poets. At a recent recruiting program at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre, the students listened to a lecture by smut king Larry Flynt and were entertained by the hip-hop group Dead Prez.

If I remember correctly, I think Harvard was one of several schools that banned the US Armed Forces from recruiting on campus. Apparently no similar restrictions apply to the ACLU.

Also, once people age a few years and are no longer burdened by adolescent idealism, they become less liberal. It would seem that having an increasing median age in their membership would be good news for the ACLU.
