HUMAN TRAFFICKING LINKED TO BACHELOR PARTIES

In several previous posts, I've discussed at some length the occurrence of human trafficking and sex slavery in Europe and Asia (see SEX SLAVES IN CZECH REPUBLIC, BALKAN CHILDREN SMUGGLING, SEX TOURISM LAW, and BALKAN SEX TRADE). Logically, it would be of interest to me when a United Nations expert in the field of human trafficking appeared recently as the guest speaker at a City Club of Cleveland luncheon.

Sister Clare Nolan's speech was sponsored by the International Partners in Mission, a small, faith-based foundation, headed by Executive Director Joe Cistone. The audience of about 150 was mostly female and, according to Mr. Cistone:
"Guys don't want to hear about this. It makes men uncomfortable. The way men view women is part and parcel of the problem."
I'm sure many men would disagree with that statement, however, it perfectly illustrates the general tenor of Sister Nolan's speech and the attitude of the essentially female audience.

After describing the nature and extent of human trafficking and sex slavery world-wide, Sister Nolan and the attendees pointed their fingers at and discussed the cause of the problem. Men. Men are the cause of human trafficking and the gathering focused on their collective hatred for men.

Whether those present arrived with a seething hatred of men or not is immaterial because they left with it. Sister Nolan gave everyone ample reason to hate men. And, seemingly off the subject, she included:
Simply challenging a bachelor party, and its sex "entertainment," can be an important step . . .
Agreed, the elimination of bachelor parties would be an important and necessary step in the hate campaign to emasculate men. I'm sure castration, female hormone injections, and the banning of all male-dominated sports would also help them achieve their goals.

This writer sees no credence in the correlation she makes between human trafficking and bachelor parties. This writer also doesn't believe that it made a difference what subject Sister Nolan presumably chose to speak on. Any subject chosen would probably be overshadowed by the anti-male theme.
