EX-CONVICT VOTE BEING MOBILIZED

The Ohio Free the Vote Coalition, supported this year by a $20,000 grant from the Ohio State Bar Association, is aggressively locating and notifying ex-convicts that they can and should vote. The coalition is trying to dispel the myth that a convicted felon forever loses the right to vote. Although true in some states, it's not true in Ohio. Once a felon is released from prison, his right to vote is restored.
This election cycle, coalition volunteers passed out literature at public events and conducted a voter registration drive in the Cuyahoga County Correction Center, signing up 450 new voters.
It has been rumored that the Kucinich Presidential Campaign Committee is reviewing methods to pander to the newly identified voting bloc.
