HOMELESS CANDIDATE MICHAEL PADULA LOSES ELECTION

(Painesville, OH) The story of Michael Padula, a homeless, unemployed carpenter, became news earlier this year when he filed to be certified as a candidate for the Ward 2 seat in the Painesville City Council. The Lake County Elections Board did certify Michael Padula, even though he had no defined residence, as a "non-traditional" candidate and he ran against incumbent Bill Horvath for the City Council seat.

The story ended Tuesday with Michael Padula losing in the election against Bill Horvath. Final vote: Horvath - 410, Padula - 202.
