About a dozen states let illegal aliens get driver's licenses, but Illinois is not joining them. The State Senate rejected a proposal to make illegal aliens eligible by a vote of 29 to 26. The bill needed 30 votes to pass.
"Legislation that gives illegal immigrants yet another incentive to break the law begs the question: What's the value of citizenship if you get all the benefits for free?" said Sen. Chris Lauzen, R-Aurora.I agree, but I don't think the issue is going to die. It seems every politician hungry for votes is bending over for the illegals.
