Ban Proposed on Firing Squads in Utah

(Salt Lake City, Utah) Proposed legislation has been introduced in the Utah House and Senate to ban firing squads for condemned prisoners. Bills submitted would specify death by lethal injection only, but not on Sundays, Mondays, nor holidays. The Utah Sentencing Commission stated that
. . . firing-squad executions have become publicity magnets that tend to focus attention on death-row inmates instead of their victims.
Okay, this is all well and good except I'm having trouble understanding why they're going to ban executions on Mondays. Sundays and holidays are logical. They're not workdays. But Mondays! Blue Mondays! It would seem to me to be the perfect day to be whacked.
