John Ramsey Running for Office

(Lansing, Michigan) The father of slain child beauty contestant, JonBenet Ramsey, wants to be elected a Michigan State Representative. John Ramsey has filed papers to run as a Republican candidate in the Aug. 3 primary election.

"It's most unusual to have a celebrity -- however you want to characterize that -- running for the state Legislature in Michigan," said Craig Ruff of Public Sector Consultants, a Lansing think tank. "The national media will have a field day. So will state media."

Ramsey has been invited to hit some softballs on the Larry King show tomorrow night (CNN, 9pm EDT). Annotate your DayTimer accordingly.
