Northeast Ohio has been a focal point of complaints about outsourcing of jobs. This story indicates that even our criminals aren't staying home.
Two men from Cleveland have been charged with illegally selling T-shirts imprinted with the Iowa State University logo. It's probably a safe bet that John Kerry would blame this on the Republicans.
The men were arrested Saturday for third-degree intellectual property counterfeiting.
They sold the T-shirts near Kinnick Stadium during the Iowa-Iowa State game, police said. The shirts depicted the character Calvin from the strip "Calvin and Hobbes" urinating on an ISU helmet, police said.
The counterfeiting charge falls under a state law that went into effect July 1.
For police and Iowa State, it's not about bad taste.
"It really has to do with using the ISU name," said John McCarroll, Iowa State spokesman. "It's about the counterfeiting rather than the phrase."
