(Baghdad, Iraq) The murderous Army of Ansar al-Sunna has announced the killing of twelve Nepali hostages and posted photos/video on an Islamist website. The murderers stated,
"We have carried out the sentence of God against 12 Nepalis who came from their country to fight the Muslims and to serve the Jews and the Christians ... believing in Buddha as their God."The Nepalis arrived in Iraq only recently to work as cooks and cleaners for a Jordanian firm.
More than a 1,000 Nepalis hit the streets and rioted in Kathmandu, throwing rocks and attempting to set a mosque on fire. Police intervened to protect the mosque.
The killing of the Nepali hostages has placed new urgency on France to try and get Arab support for the release of reporters Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot. It's reported that the Islamic Army in Iraq has extended a previous deadline to repeal the ban on Muslim headscarves by 24 hours.
