Florida To Sunset 'Social Promotion'

(Tampa, Florida) The Florida Board of Education has decided to ask lawmakers to end 'social promotion' at all grade levels. Statistics show that students benefit by being held back for remedial education. It seems logical to fail students who don't master minimum knowledge requirements, but the idea will probably not be popular with incompetent teachers and parents, 'self-esteem' guardians who want to eliminate grades entirely, and the unions.
