(Phoenix, Arizona) The Arizona Republic reports that a proposed change to the state's liquor laws would allow shoppers to sample beer, whiskey, and wine inside grocery stores.
Liquor sampling at places like Costco and Bashas' stands as one of the most controversial parts of the legislation. Shoppers unsure about dropping $60 on that bottle of pinot noir or the latest brand of liqueur could get a taste inside grocery stores. The move has been torpedoed previously at the Capitol, but its chances appear brighter now that it's part of a wide-ranging bill. This would probably give entirely new meaning to the phrase "shop 'til you drop."
