Woman Charged with Molesting Boy

(Bainbridge Island, Washington) Lucrecia Martinez-Rowe, 38, pleaded not guilty last month to charges she had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old neighborhood boy. She had been charged with third degree child rape, which carries a possible five-year prison sentence upon conviction. From the Kitsap Sun:
According to a Bainbridge Island police report, Martinez-Rowe supplied a 14-year-old boy with alcohol and had sex with him. She also admitted to supplying alcohol and having sex on more than two occasions with another 14-year-old boy during the same time frame. Martinez-Rowe voluntarily provided a taped statement admitting to the sex and alcohol violations.

According to a relative of the victim, Martinez-Rowe lived across the street from one of the 14-year-old boys. He performed odd jobs around the house for her. The 14-year-old boy and a friend of his would visit Martinez-Rowe. And the relationship of the three grew from there.
Besides the apparent tag-team aspect, just doing the math gives an indication of the seriousness of her alleged crime. Martinez-Rowe, at 38, has ten years on the two boys even after adding their ages together. Throw in the booze and the fact that the crime was repeated and you have yourself a child molester. Of course, she's innocent until proven guilty.

Accompanied by attorney Jeanette Dalton, Martinez-Rowe appeared before Judge Ted Spearman this week and was awarded a continuance to allow for the completion of a sex offender sentencing alternative. The case continues with a scheduled hearing on June 15 and a trial on July 27.

As an afterthought, what do you think a 38-year-old man would be looking at if he were caught liquoring up 14-year-old neighborhood girls for some sexual threebies? As reported, Martinez-Rowe is looking at five years and maybe a fine. She'll probably get less after a "sentencing alternative" is decided. I wonder if a 38-year-old man would get the same treatment?
