British Court Sentences Afghan Warlord to 20 Years

(London) This is an odd case. A British court sentenced an Afghan citizen to prison for human rights violations committed in Afghanistan against Afghans with testimony from witnesses given via satellite links.

From ABC News Online:

Farayadi Sarwar Zardad, 42, was convicted yesterday for running a private army that brutalised Afghans in the Sarobi district east of Kabul in the 1990s.

The private army included a "human dog" that ate a victim's testicles.

Zardad was found guilty at London's Old Bailey criminal court of conspiracy to torture people and take hostages.

Apparently, Zardad led a gang of thugs that robbed, beat, raped, and murdered travelers along a stretch of highway connecting Pakistan to Kabul. The gang was exceptionally evil in its tactics as indicated by having a testicle-eating "human dog." In my opinion, the group was subhuman.
