(Joliet, Illinois) Via peepholes, an unknown number of eyeballs feasted on an unknown number of women in their underwear at the Victoria's Secret lingerie store in Westfield Shoppingtown Louis Joliet Mall.
From the Herald News:
It was a customer shopping in the lingerie store Tuesday evening who first found the peepholes and alerted management.According to Deputy Police Chief Fred Hayes, police discovered six peepholes made with a punch tool through the drywall and by scratching off the backing from the dressing room mirrors. Behind the mirrors is a storeroom for a jewelry store, currently being renovated. It's not known how long the peepholes had been used nor how many people are involved. However, it is known that contractors, engineers, janitors, and employees of other stores had access. The police are investigating.
The customer, a 24-year-old Lemont woman, was changing in one of the stalls when she noticed a black mark on the dressing room mirror. She changed to a second stall and found a similar mark, police said, and closer scrutiny revealed scraped drywall on the other side of the mirror.
The woman then alerted store management. Management contacted mall security, and security alerted police.
Fortunately, my privacy will not be compromised in a similar circumstance since I don't try on my unmentionables before I make a purchase. In fact, I've never even thought of trying on my underwear before buying, but if it crosses my mind, I'll be looking closely for scratches on the dressing room mirror.
