Coyotes in Cleveland
(Seven Hills, Ohio) In this suburban community about a 15-minute drive from downtown Cleveland, two coyotes attacked and ran off with the Petro family pet. Hearing the dog yelp, Frank Petro gave chase and scared the coyotes away. Remarkably, the tiny dog was saved, "though his throat was ripped open and he had bite marks all over his body." After hours with the veterinarian, the dog was patched up and is expected to survive.
Surely the animal rights types are happy that coyotes are running around neighborhoods in major U.S. cities. I'm not. I also suspect that it's only a matter of time before a toddler is taken by the predators.
