(Sonoma, California) Joseph Owades, considered by some as the Thomas Edison of beer, died last Friday of heart failure at his home in Sonoma. He was 86.Owades is credited with inventing the process to remove starch from beer, creating light beer. He also helped create the formulas for microbreweries.
