Across The Fruited Plain

Mainstay in the blogosphere, Digger, recently relocated from the West Coast to the East Coast and took the long way. He and his family traveled almost 5,000 miles through 16 states in 12 days. All along, Digger documented his travels, took pictures, and regularly posted his progress at Diggers Realm.

I followed Digger's travels through his posts and experienced a bit of envy. For one thing, I also have traveled across the fruited plain but I didn't document the experience. That I regret because I know that I could have relived every exciting, and...uh...not so exciting, mile had I done so. Digger can.

Now that he's settled in at his new home in New York, Digger has taken the time to compile his pictures and commentary and post all of it up at a new website called, appropriately, Our Family Adventure. I mention this not because Digger is a fellow blogger, but because the account of his travels is quite informative and entertaining. If Digger decides to give up the rat race and become a vagabond, his writing style, photographic skills, and eye for detail will surely land him work as a travelographer.

In all seriousness, though, if you haven't freshened your daydream file lately, take a look at Our Family Adventure. It'll make you want to plan your own trip.
