Bullet Falls Into Woman's Face
(Orlando, Florida) Some irresponsible New Year's reveler fired a .45-caliber gun into the air and, when the bullet came down, it seriously wounded 26-year-old Ruby Cintron in the face. Cintron was holding her 7-month-old baby when she was struck. The incident occurred on the north shoreline of Crooked Lake in the Highlands Lake subdivision off Hiawassee Road.
Doctors at the Orlando Regional Medical Center were unable to remove the bullet from Cintron's head and the damage caused her to lose an eye. Police are investigating.
This story reminds me of the many times I've seen television footage of Middle Eastern gunmen indiscriminately firing AK-47s into the air in celebration. Apparently, simple minds believe bullets fired into the sky just stay there.
