(Lake George, New York) Twenty elderly sightseers from Michigan perished last October when the tour boat Ethan Allen sank. Astonishingly, it appears that the owner of the boat, Shoreline Cruises, had no liability insurance. The insurance company, Global Property Owners Association, asserts that Shoreline Cruises rejected maritime coverage.
The New York State Insurance Department is investigating.
