Teacher Accused of Intimacy with Boy
(Dripping Springs, Texas) A 28-year-old chemistry teacher at Dripping Springs High School, Rebecca Garrison, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of initiating an intimate relationship with one of her students, a 15-year-old boy. Garrison has been charged with indecency with a child and improper relationship between an educator and student.
The boy's mother had suspicions about Garrison and her son so she checked his email and cell phone records. The mother found references to "sexual activity and declarations of love" so she alerted the principal of the high school, Greg Jung.
If convicted of the charges against her, Garrison faces punishment of two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. She is currently being held in the Hays County Jail with bail set at $80,000.
