(Canon City, Colorado) A 33-year-old sixth-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School, Jennie Overstreet, was arrested after surrendering to Canon City Police Friday for alleged sexual assault of a boy. Overstreet has been charged with sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust, pattern of sexual abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and enticement of a child.
In a search of Overstreet's home, meaningful evidence was found, including notes, pornographic materials and drug paraphernalia. Canon City Police continue to investigate and more charges may be filed. Note that Overstreet is accused of sexual assault of an elementary school boy, probably no more than 12-years-old. It's also hinted that there may be more victims.
Overstreet was jailed with bond set at $50,000.
